Eight riders Thumbed their noses” at the weather forecast and took on a 60 mile mixed surface route northwest of Leesburg. The rains bypassed the area and the riders had an excellent dust free ride along back country gravel roads.
The 9:00 am start got delayed because one rider went to the Haymarket Sheetz (start point of the Spring Gravel Roads Ride). Since he braved the wet weather to go out and ride, the group agreed to wait ten minutes till he arrived.
We got to the lunch stop in Lovettsville just as the noon time forecasted rain arrived. By the time lunch was over, the bad weather had passed through the area and we had cool, overcast skies for the rest of the ride.
